Saying goodbye...

The hardest part of any friendship is when it's time to say goodbye. As much as we might like things to stay the same, change is an inevitable part of life. We grow up, we change, we move on; we eventual decide to take different paths on our life journey. And no matter if we are prepared for these moments or not, they are never easy. Saying goodbye to a friend you’ve grown to love and care for over the years is heart wrenching. The only thing you can really do is to remember that even though a chapter of your life is ending, a new one is beginning.

So, I say goodbye to you my dear friend. The time has come for us to go our separate ways. We are choosing different paths to travel and they no longer include each other. Perhaps one day our paths will cross and we can once again travel together, but if that day never comes, I wish you luck and happiness on your future endeavors.

This chapter has ended…

Goal Payout

Picture 073

Perhaps Adam and I need to rethink Mason’s goal pay out! It started out a dollar a goal from us, then the grandparents and uncle’s decided to join. By the end of soccer season he’ll have more money in his piggy bank then we do in our savings account! He may just find some IOU's in there. :)

Fairytale Town is not so fairy…

Oh crap! Was the first thing that went through my head today when I meet up with Mason’s kindergarten class at Fairytale Town. When I signed up a month ago as a parent helper I was thinking it would be fun to tag along since it was his first "big kids: field trip. And the fact he was riding a school bus was a little nerve racking for me. Fun? Yeah, not so much!

Not only was there our school bus load of 3 kindergarten classes with 20 students in each, but there was at least another 5 busses full of kids. What was Fairytale Town thinking? Yeah, they are probably hurting for money, but come on! Couldn’t they split up the days? Then to make matters worse, they didn’t have enough staff on hand to collect the monies from all the different teachers. Shouldn’t this have been done beforehand? It was absolute chaos. At one point I honestly thought the kids were going to take over, they were trying to break down the iron fence!

Let’s just say things didn’t get much better once we were inside. It reminded me of Disneyland during summer vacation, PACKED. Out of all the times I’ve been to Fairytale Town (and I've been to Fairytale Town), there has never been a line to go down any of the slides. Kids were running all over the place, people falling, and parents yelling to slow down. Once it was time to leave most of the kids were breaking down because they were hungry. Some (yes my kid was involved) even started chanting “EAT EAT EAT” while their teacher was taking pictures in the castle. Um... LOUD!!

I can say there was one (and only one) time on this field trip I did really enjoy, and that was lunch time. Those kids were so quite I think I may have heard a cricket or two. :)

So, what I learned on my first field trip experience is: Mason can ride the bus anytime he wants, there will be NO birthday parties in the castle at Fairytale Town nor will I (meaning Adam will have to go) be attending any birthday parties in the castle (cough cough), and always pack a flask to help keep me sane (teasing other parents with this flask will also be fun).

It's good to know I can learn something new everyday! :)

Make-Up Game Update

The boys kicked butt!! 6-0! I guess the irritating mother shouldn't have complained about the rain, her son could have at least said they scored one. Better luck next time. :)~

First Soccer Game...

Good nights rest? Check. Uniform clean and laid out? Check. Water bottle full and in the refrigerator? Check. Rain gear packed? What, rain gear? That’s right, first official soccer game of the season and not only does it rain but there has to be lightening storms too!Of course all of this starts after I have already loaded the two younger munchkins up and I’m on my way out to the field. But what makes it even better, the game doesn’t get called until I have unloaded the little ones and I’m almost to the field. I know what your thinking, “Why didn’t I call Adam before heading out?” Um, hello, of course I did! His response was, “Rain? What rain?” Now I have a better question. Why didn’t he call my cell phone and tell me to stay in the car? Just asking. :)

So the official ruling after 15 minutes of play, a 1-1 score, and one irritating parent complaining that their child was getting wet; game was canceled due to lightening. Funny thing is, once the game was canceled most of the kids stayed out on the field having a blast playing soccer in the rain. Of course the irritating parent rushed their child off the field so fast a lightening bolt wouldn’t stand a chance against her. This is probably just a myth, but I always thought lightening normally struck the tallest object. Which in this case I have no problem with the game continuing because we all know it would never hit Mason!

Instead of waiting the 10 minute storm out, we have to make up the game Monday night and I’m totally bummed because Adam and I both will be missing his game due to our work schedules. I have a feeling we’ll be making a Costco run this weekend and buying a 5 dozen pack of eggs. And all of those eggs will not be used for making omelets if you know what I mean. Maybe I'll even let the other father's know what I'm planning because I have a feeling they're not to happy to be missing opening season of Monday night football.

P.S. Thank you to all the family and friends that came out to support Mason at his first game. I am truly sorry you were unable to watch a full game.

I welcome myself to the blog world!

For the past few years I have wanted to start a blog but life has always seemed to get in the way. But now that life has settled down some (I say that with sarcasm in my voice because with 3 busy toddlers life never slows down) there is no better time but now. I do not know where this blog will lead but what I do know is this: it will include my kids, family, friends, and myself, there may be some ranting and raving about topics that are bothering me (I will NOT complain about my life, that crap bugs me) perhaps a recipe or two, maybe a fun craft idea for the holidays, and such. I also know I am not a writer and spell check has become my best friend even though I wish it picked up on the incorrect usage of some words, I LOVE to use comma’s, and there are times in everyday life a swear word or two has helped get a point across. I know at some point I will offend someone or even multiple people. Anything and everything I write is just my opinion, it does not mean it's right; even though I think it is. :) I believe the number one reason anyone would be become offended by me is because it’s not what they believe. And that is ok. So here is the one and only time I will apologize, “I apologize in advance if I offend/ed you... but get over it.” Happy reading!
